Dr. Silmar "Skip" Skibsted, age 94 of St. Paul, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2023.
Survived by his wife of 53 years, Judy (Richmond) Skibsted; son, Kim Skibsted; daughter, Debra Schwietert; nieces and nephews, Kimberly, Karrie, Chris, Cindy, Ron; grandchildren, Melanie, Jonathan; great-grandchildren, Hazel and Nixon; brother-in-law, Jerry Richmond. Preceded in death by brother, Arthur & Hazel Skibsted; parents, Anna and Silmar Skov Skibsted.
An amazing, humble, and giving Sacro Occipital Technique Chiropractor and Craniopath instructor, practitioner, and friend to many.
He had been practicing in St Paul, Minnesota since 1961 and was actively involved in learning, teaching, and treating patients with Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT). Cranial Technique was his Specialty. He treated many stars and famous people.
He was invited to teach all around the US, and also in England, Australia, Japan, and Hawaii.
Often inseparable from his loving wife, Judy Skibsted. His patients wouldn't let him retire. They said they couldn't find another Chiropractor that did what he did. They called him "Magic Hands." After he retired, the patients kept calling him and wanting him to treat them. So he treated patients, right up until he was 93 years old. He died on their 53rd Wedding Anniversary, June 7th at the age of 94.
Skip was also a Team Teacher at the Parker Chiropractic Seminars for about 25 years, which were put on in all the Major Cities around the Country. At the Bally Grand Hotel in Las Vegas they had a Record breaking 8,383 attending and had such Guest Speakers as Mark Victor Hanson, of "Chicken Soup for the Soul' Books, of which Skip was featured in. Wayne Dyer, Morris Goodman, "The Miracle Man" Tremendous Jones, and many other Well known Guest Speakers.
He Served in the Navy in 1954 during the Korean Conflict Era. He was also a Shriner with the Osman Shrine.
He will be sorely missed by many people who knew and loved him. Many will always remember his love, warmth, vibrant smile, and selfless giving to others.
Funeral Service Friday, July 14th, 11:00 A.M at BRADSHAW, 4600 Greenhaven Drive & HWY 96, White Bear. Visitation Thursday, July 13th from 6-8:00 P.M. at BRADSHAW, as well as one hour before the service. Burial Roselawn Cemetery at 12:15pm. Celebration of Life Reception to follow burial at Keller Golf and Country Club. The service will be live streamed and you will be able to watch the livestream on this page just below.
