Susan Ellen Dahl
Born June 8th, 1939 in Stillwater, MN to Albert and Mae Dahl. She grew up in Bayport and, after graduating from Stillwater High School attended Gustavus Adolphus College, followed by the University of Minnesota, graduating with a degree in Special Education. She taught elementary school in St. Louis Park, MN and South St. Paul, MN. She lived the rest of her life a Gusty, very proud of her alma mater. On June 30, 1962 she married high school sweetheart, Michael Doe and they settled in Stillwater while raising their three children. Susan loved to read, travel and most of all garden. She was a dedicated member of the Perennial Garden Club, Friday Study Club, Stillwater Library Board, and her fishing/knitting group. Of all her many clubs and associations, her 40 plus year association with her bridge club was the highlight. This group of legendary women were friends that were more like family, had a tremendous amount of fun, and for the first few decades, played a bit of bridge. Preceded in death by her parents, Albert & Mae Dahl, and cousin/best friend, Carolyn Goulette. Survived by husband, Michael Doe; children, Sarah Ulrich, Elizabeth (Allan) Reding, and Jeffrey (Kimberly) Doe; Grandchildren, Matthew and Cole Ulrich, Katherine and William Reding, and Stephanie, Lauren, and Mara Doe; Brother, Charlie Dahl. Also survived by sister-in-law, Ellen Dahl, many nieces, nephews and close friends. Visitation Fri., Aug. 7th from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard (NW corner of Hwy 36 & Cty Rd 5), Stillwater. Service Saturday, Aug. 8th, 1:00 P.M. at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH 115 N. 4th St., Stillwater, with visitation 1 hr prior. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to MN Public Radio, Gustavus Adolphus College, or American Heart Assoc.
