Teresa Lake

Teresa L. Lake, 80, longtime resident of Cary, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 1, 2022. She was born on November 2, 1941 in Redwood Falls, MN to Jack and Kathleen Smith.

On May 12, 1962, Teresa was united in marriage to Peter Lake in Wausau, WI. In their 60 years of marriage, they were blessed with 5 children and further blessed with 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

She graduated from McHenry County College in 2002, where she earned her associate degree in Master Gardening. She further supported their program as a volunteer with the University of Illinois’s extension of master gardening, helping maintain the herb garden at the Lake in the Hills food pantry. She enjoyed gardening and growing her own vegetables at home, oftentimes donating any excess to local food pantries.

In later years, she found happiness in crafting and attending craft fairs. Above all, Teresa’s greatest joy was her family.

She will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Peter; children, Tammie (Al) Goodman, Robert (Michelle) Lake, Patty Sue (John Walsh) Lake, Amy (Thomas) Mroczenski, and Kerry Lake; grandchildren, David (Shelly Kronholm), Abby and Paige Goodman, Cody (Amy) and Tyler Lake, Brian, Joseph and Jacob Mroczenski; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Andrew, Brady, Ava, and Paisley; siblings, Patty, Tom, Jim, Kathy and Susan; and by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her siblings, Jack and Midge.

Memorial visitation will be Saturday, April 2, 2022, from 9:30 AM until the 11:30 AM Memorial Service, followed by a luncheon, at Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd, Stillwater, MN 55082.  Interment will be private.
