On January 6, 2025, Terry William Elhardt, age 73, of Ham Lake, Minnesota, was graciously called out of his life by our Heavenly Father to be with Him in heaven. He passed at home peacefully in the company of his family.
Terry was born in Minneapolis on June 15th 1951, he grew up in Arden Hills, MN and graduated from Mounds View High School in 1969. He married Sandy (Spitzack) on June 30th 1984. Terry and Sandy were blessed with three children: Katie, Chris and Kelli. He was a faithful husband and father. He worked in sales at Midway Industrial Supply shortly after high school and worked there for 45 years, until his retirement in 2014.
Terry found joy in the simple things, he loved to travel, always seeking out new places, especially warm, sunny destinations with the beach nearby wearing his newest Tommy Bahama outfit. Whether it was savoring a good cigar or enjoying a 4 p.m. happy hour with a Windsor Sprite and pretzels in hand, he knew how to make every moment count. He was happiest when spending time with his wife, kids, and grand kids.
Terry had a sharp wit and a knack for humor, and his one-liners became a cherished part of our family. His easy going nature, patience, and laughter will always live on in our memories. A true sports fan, he spent countless hours watching his favorite professional teams, but preferred those of his kids and grand kids. Weekends at the Elhardt cabin on Rabbit Lake and the annual Spitzack vacation at Williams Narrows were traditions that brought him much joy, and we will forever treasure the memories of those times spent together. Terry was a man of faith and was heavily involved in his church at Spirit of Christ, serving on many boards over the years.
Terry's legacy is one of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments, and while we will miss him dearly, we find comfort in knowing that he is wrapped in the arms of Jesus.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sandy; children, Katie (Keith) Sherman, Chris (Beth Sateren), Kelli (Zach) Mosbek; grandchildren, Blake, Zach, Cody Sherman, Harrison Mosbek; siblings, Sundae (Mike) Nelson, Vickie Grunewald, Lori Scott, David Elhardt; nieces and nephews, Tim (Maria) Nelson, Jodi (Paul John) Hemann, Jeff (Cheri) Grunewald and many other family members and friends. He will be deeply missed by those who survive him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lillian; brother-in-law, Cary Grunewald; father and mother-in-law, Harold and Bernita Spitzack; and brother-in-law, Dale Schwartz.
