Terry Chelsea Kardell (1948-2024)
Terry was a devoted follower of Jesus and a faithful steward of all that was entrusted to him. Terry loved and served his family more than anything on this earth and did everything he possibly could to support, cheer on, and love his wife, children and grandchildren well. Terry was a teacher in the St. Paul Public School System for 35 years and a loyal member of Rose Hill Alliance Church for over 50 years, fulfilling many roles of voluntary lay leadership to diligently serve Christ and His Church.
Terry was born in Wayne, Nebraska to Virgil and Verna Kardell. Terry graduated from Wayne High School and Wayne State College and married his high school sweetheart Ruth Ann Baier on August 24, 1968. Terry and Ruth moved to the Twin Cities for teaching jobs and remained in Minnesota ever since- only leaving for brief stints to escape the cold and enjoy time at one of their favorite destinations: Lehigh Resort near Fort Myers, Florida.
Terry was preceded in death by his father Virgil, mother Verna and sister Janet. Terry is survived by his wife Ruth, brother Virgil (Jan), daughter Lori Lightbody (David), son Todd (Charity), grandchildren Solomon Kardell, Miriam Kardell, Luke Lightbody, Silas Kardell, Judah Kardell and Justus Kardell. Nieces and nephews.
Terry was an admired and respected man of God, who delighted in attending all of his children and grandchildren's events. Terry was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren and rarely missed a moment to be front and center to celebrate and support them in all that they did.
We as a family now get to celebrate his tremendous example of faithfulness throughout his life that we have been privileged to witness and benefit from. Terry will be deeply missed, but the family rejoices in knowing that his salvation and eternity is secure in heaven due to his personal confession of faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
