Hoeschen, Theresia (RA�sel) Bayer
Age 98
Passed away peacefully Apr 25, 2019. Formerly of Crystal, MN, she was a longtime resident of Stonecrest Sr. Apts in Woodbury. RA�sel was born in BA�rstadt, Germany on March 23, 1921 to Katharina & Josef Bayer. She grew up in nearby Bensheim and it was there she met her future husband, George Hoeschen, who was stationed there with the post WWII occupying forces.
In January 1955, RA�sel boarded the S.S. America in Bremerhaven, Germany crossing the Atlantic to a new life, leaving all that was familiar. She learned a new language and culture and reared a family while moving from one army base to another. She loved being an army wife, especially when stationed back in Germany to once again be near her parents and sister.
RA�sel was an independent woman long before it was the norm and, despite many personal tragedies, sought a life of joy for herself and her loved ones. She was devoted to her Faith and family, with dancing coming in close behind. RA�sel marched to her own drummer and our lives were more vibrant because of it. Auf Wiedersehen, Mutti.
Preceeded in death by husband, George; daughter, Ursula; sister, Irmgard Sartorius; and brother, Walter Bayer. Survived by daughter, Leilani (Gerald) Bankers; grandchildren, Jennifer Bankers-Fulbright( James Fulbright), Jeffrey Bankers (Sara) and Christine Runkle (Nicholas); great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Fulbright, Jackson Bankers and Riley Bankers; as well as nieces and nephews in the U.S. and in Germany. We acknowledge and thank Pillars Hospice Home of Oakdale who treated RA�sel with respect, gentle care and compassion during her brief stay. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 11th at Church of St. Rita, 8694 80th St So, Cottage Grove, MN at 11:00am with visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, RA�sel's preferred charity was St. Jude's Children Research Hospital. Private interment at Ft. Snelling.
