Thomas Crever

Thomas Henry Crever, age 84, of Hugo, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. He was born on March 2, 1938 in St Paul, the son of Connie and Lorraine (Pelletier) Crever. Tom graduated from White Bear High School in 1956. He served for 10 years in the Army National Guard.  He married the love of his life Juleann Carol Torgersen on May 13, 1961, at St. John the Baptist Church, Hugo.  He and Julee are members of St John the Baptist of St. Genevieve Church.  They were married for 61 years.

Tom attended Dunwoody Institute and originally worked as a Draftsman.  However, his desire to be active and outdoors drew him to pursue Carpentry where he enjoyed a long, successful career in commercial construction for several large Twin Cities companies turning blueprints into buildings that will remain standing for decades to come!  He was a member of the Twin Cities Carpenters Local 322.  Tom was also member of the Hugo Lions Club serving for many years including as President and Chairman of Good Neighbor Days; he was a recipient of the Melvin Jones Lion Fellowship Award and the Hugo Lion of the Year.

Tom and Julee raised their family in their home they designed & built on Sunset Lake.  After retirement they traveled and enjoyed many years wintering on the Texas coast.  Tom had many life-long friends and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and he played a mean game of cribbage!  He loved spending time with his family, including his nine grandchildren.  We will miss his low-key manner, keen insight, and clever light humor!

Tom is survived by his wife, Julee; children, Cathy (Rock) Gjermo, Lori Crever, David Crever, and Michelle (Greg) Houle; grandchildren, Britta (Dan) Morrison, Hanna (Isaac) Chomitz, Natalie Gjermo, Niko Crever, Kennedy Crever, Jack Crever, Grant Houle, Carter Houle and Trey Houle; siblings, Mike (Judy) Crever, Connie (Bill) Martin, Lee (Judy) Crever, Rita Daninger, Nancy (Robert) Rogers, and Gina (Bob) Schafer; sister-in-law, Marlene (Richard) Proulx; as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Roger.

A Memorial Service will be held at Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd, Stillwater, at 6pm on Monday, June 13, 2022.  Visitation will be held at the Bradshaw Center before the service from 4pm – 6pm.  Following the service, a light dinner will be served.  A family burial will be held later at St John the Baptist Cemetery in Hugo.
