Ransom, Vashti Clara Mrs. Vashti Clara Ransom, affectionately known as "Nonnie", departed her earthly home to be with the Lord on October 7, 2007. Vashti was preceded in death by her husband, Major Samuel L. Ransom; parents U.B. and Mary Johnson Rogers; brother, Uzziel Rogers II, sisters Annie Mary Sheppard, Ernestine Rogers, Josephine Rogers, Esther Walters, Rozene Rogers, and Ruth Porter DuBose and surrogate daughters, Daphne M. Porter and Gloria Taylor-James. She is survived by 3 sisters, Henrietta Rogers, Atlanta, Georgia; Virginia LaMarr, Queens, N.Y.; Naomi Randolph, Selma, AL and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Visitation will be from 9:30AM until 10:45AM. Services will begin at 11AM at PILGRIM BAPTIST CHURCH, 732 W. Central. Burial at Ft. Snelling Cemetery.
