Age 89 of Woodbury

Passed away peacefully in his home on December 22, 2021. He is survived by his wife, Frances Maxine “Max”; children, Tom (Jaymee Jackson) Voves, Michael Voves; son-in-law, Todd Sletten; sisters-in-law, Bernie Voves, Colleen Voves; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Clara; daughter, Sandy Sletten; brothers, Robert and Larry.

Velmar was a longtime member of Transfiguration Church of Oakdale and spent his working career at 3M. In retirement, he enjoyed golf, winters in Texas, and polka dancing with Max. Never far from his Iowa farming roots, Velmar loved to spend time in the garden. Funeral service will be 11:00am Thursday, December 30, 2021 at BRADSHAW, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd, Stillwater, with visitation one hour prior. Interment at Fort Snelling at a later date. Memorials preferred.
