Velyma Dorothy Hanson (nee Killmer)

Of Minnetonka MN went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 10th, 2020, just 34 days shy of her 100th birthday. “Absent from the body, present with the Lord.” She was preceded in death by Laurry her husband of 77 years. She is survived by her three children, Sharalyn Warren, Ken (Carol) and Phil (Donna), six grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Her gift of hospitality and love for world missions impacted many people around the globe. Her and Laurry’s hosting of many international students resulted in life-long friendships and admiration. A world tour of mission agencies and missionaries in 1970 was foundational to their commitment to missions including many short-term mission trips to southern U.S. and Central/South America. She will be remembered as “a quiet helper”, a fantastic cook, a strong and loving matriarch, being a little mischievous and, most importantly, a lover of Jesus Christ.

Due to the current virus pandemic, a private family memorial service will be held at a later time. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
