Age 71, of Stillwater, MN died suddenly in Fort Myers, Florida on November 12 from a severe stroke. She is preceded in death by parents, Richard and Irene (Yeskie) Megrath. She is survived by her husband of 49 years Charles Gifford; daughters, Alissa (Jeff) Fredeen of Stillwater and Gia Gifford (John Peacock) of Golden Valley along with her 3 grandchildren, Annika, Wyatt and Ollie.
Vicki graduated from UW- La Crosse in 1969 where she was part of the debate team and majored in education. She taught art and speech for 13 years at Oakland Junior High in Lake Elmo. In 1982 she decided to advance her career and attended Law School at William Mitchell College of Law and graduated in 1985 with her Juris Doctor degree. During her career as an attorney she practiced law in St. Paul and Stillwater. She was a prosecuting attorney in Woodbury, city attorney for Grant township, and ran her own private practice for 20 years. Vicki will be sadly missed by her relatives and many friends. She was an avid gardener, cherished her time boating on the St. Croix river, traveling the world, and spending time in Florida. She loved spending time, playing games and taking trips with the grandkids. Vicki had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She made friends wherever she went. She loved animals, was an advocate for causes close to her heart and deeply cared for the environment. A celebration of her life will take place on Wednesday, November 28 from 4p.m.-7p.m. at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd., Stillwater.
