Vicki Lynn (Christianson) Pederson was welcomed into heaven on August 15th, 2024, in Saint James, Minnesota, the city where she had lived since graduating from Saint James High School in 1971. Vicki was born to Robert "R.G" and Dorothy Christianson on November 16, 1952, at Peabody Memorial Hospital in Webster, SD. She was baptized on December 25th, 1952 in Minneota, and was confirmed in 1968 at Augustana Lutheran Church in Saint James, MN.
It was 1965 when the her family moved to St. James. Vicki was very creative and loved drawing, painting, participated in 4-H and took piano lessons. After graduating high school she began working at Pleasant View, working countless hours, going above and beyond her job title.
In 1986, God finally blessed her with a daughter. She wanted nothing more than to be a mom. Vicki did everything she could to ensure that her daughter had a great future. She was a mother who was present when Courtney needed her the most, offering support, encouragement, and love in abundance.
Vicki retired from the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in 2020 after 50 years of employment. She was looking forward to spending more time with her grandchildren and taking care of her mother.
Vicki lived by her father's motto: "Its better to give than to receive." Vicki gave everything she could and didn't expect anything in return. She was a caregiver at heart, much like her mother. When Dorothy needed help in her last years, Vicki was there to do what she needed to do to provide her with daily care, comfort and love. Putting what she needed aside. Vicki made frequent trips back and forth to Stillwater over the years to visit Courtney, her husband Brian and their three children Claire, Vivian and Benjamin. She was looking forward to moving up by them and actively being a part of their lives.
Vicki's dedication to her family was immeasurable. She always put others before herself. Her generosity knew no bounds, and her warmth touched the lives of everyone that knew her. She enjoyed being with her grandkids, dancing in the kitchen, a good strong cup of coffee and key lime pie. She made sure to keep her mother's Christmas baking tradition alive by making: Chex Mix, Sugar Cookies and Chocolate Delights.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert "R.G" and Dorothy "Dottie" Christianson.
She is survived by her daughter, Courtney (Brian) Zwach; The "Apples of Her Eyes" Grandchildren, Claire, Vivian and Benjamin Zwach of Stillwater; step children, Matthew (Molly) Pederson of Owatonna, Casie (Paul) Johnson of Rush City, Brett Pederson of Minneapolis and Adam Pederson of Shakopee; and step grandkids, Mason Nadolney and Cayden Nadolney of Minneapolis; her siblings, Roxanne Clegg of Maplewood, Robert C Christianson of Ham Lake and Robin Christianson of New Ulm, & 4 nephews, Zachary (Libby) Clegg of Woodbury. Justin (Paula) Clegg of Woodbury. Carl Clegg and Alan Clegg of St. Paul.
Granting her wishes there will be no service. Courtney & Brian invite you to a Celebration of Life at Watermark Church Hub in Oak Park Heights on Saturday, September 7th, 2024 from 1pm-4pm. A private interment service will be at Mount Hope Cemetery at a later date.
Condolences may be sent to the family at 647 Croixwood Place Stillwater, MN 55082.
