Virginia Mae “Jimmy” “Granny” Ritzer (Nee: Cates)
Age 91 of Stillwater
Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 16, 2023. Jimmy retired from Cargill as a bookkeeper. She loved crafts including knitting and sewing American Girl Doll and barbie clothing. She competed in chili cookoffs, winning many times. She spent her time playing cribbage and casino bingo, losing many times. She was an avid Minnesota Twins fan. Jimmy loved to travel and spend time with her children and grandchildren.
Survived by brother, Judd Cates; children, Gary Ritzer, Chris (Darrell) Roberts, Lori (John) Pedersen, Rick (Michelle) Ritzer, Cindy Ritzer; grandchildren, Jason (Tricia) Ritzer, Kelli (Barry) Espiritu, Josh (Andrea) Ritzer, Jodi White-Tauber (Bob), Traci (Shawn) Glaser, Monica (Michael) Campbell, Melissa Pedersen, Mackenzie (Owen) Lowery, Brittany (Joseph) Mann, Tayler (Bobby) Peavey, Cassie Hendrix and Jarin Weiss; great grandchildren; Jordan, Blake, Elizabeth, Jenna, Jackson, Preston, Bryan, Kaden, Addison, Messiah, Mason, Angel, Easton, Briggs, Autumn, Peyton, Hunter, Elizabeth, Luke, Kailah and Abigail along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceded in death by parents, Leroy and Elsie (Ulrich) Cates; sisters, DeLila Evert, Audrey Cates and Pat Ponath; significant other and best friend, Jack Bohmert; great grandson; Max Espiritu.
Celebration of Jimmy’s Life 11am Friday, June 23rd at Bradshaw, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd, Stillwater, with visitation beginning one hour prior. Private family interment at Fairview Cemetery.
