On June 10, 2022 Wanda was hospitalized with a severe brain bleed with a second occurrence the next day. She never regained conscientiousness and then died early the morning of the 20th.
Wanda was born December 2, 1948 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She enjoyed a wonderful childhood. She married her husband Dana on January 18, 1970 and lived in Fremont, NE where they were in college. She graduated in 1971 and taught first grade in Bellevue, NE for two years.
They had their daughter Molly Beth in 1973 and son Doug followed in 1977. They lived in Omaha when the kids were born and then in Sioux City during the early ‘80’s, settling in Woodbury, MN in 1986. Wanda served in the Woodbury school system for 25 years, first as a para professional and then as a first grade teacher, her true calling. She was named Educator of the Year in 2004. A bout with cancer forced her early retirement.
Preceding her in death was her special daughter Molly Beth in 2005, her parents Elmer and Eleanor Anderson, her brother Russell and her in-laws Stan and Mary Jane Hansen.
Preserving her memory are her husband Dana and son Doug, his wife Araksya and their daughters Emily and Bridget of Scottsdale, AZ. Also surviving are in-laws Lennard and Janice Hansen, Ken and Jacquie Kluck of Omaha, Merilee Anderson of Kansas City and their respective families.
Memorials are urged to Hiawatha Homes, Inc., 1820 Valkyrie Drive NW, Rochester, MN 55901
