MADSON
Wayland C.
Age 91, of Woodbury
After courageously battling cancer for many years Wayland Clair Madson passed peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Wayland was born on May 19, 1927, to Reuben and Mabel Madson in Storden, MN. The oldest of eight children, Wayland was responsible from the start. Growing up on a farm he learned the value of hard work and it served him well. He graduated from Storden High School in 1945 and settled into a career in construction shortly after which lead him to a partnership with Bill Peterson in forming Peterson and Madson Inc. and later Arnold and Madson Inc. In 1949 Wayland married Lucy Sykora and became the father of five daughters. Wayland was an avid outdoorsman and sports fan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and traveling with his family. Because Wayland's faith was important to him he faithfully served God and others.
He will be sorely missed by his family which includes his wife Lucy, Marsha (Jon Larson), Lynn (Greg Thomas), Connie (Bob Arnold), Cheryl (Mike Fregeau), Pam (Tom Miller), eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Wayland is preceded by his infant son, parents, Mabel and Reuben Madson and brother-in-law, Roger Bartels. His siblings are Jan Bartels, Ruth (Ron Quade), Reuben (Marcy), Arliss (Don Rust), Keith (Barb) and Chuck (Tina) along with many nieces and nephews.
