Wayne was born August 18, 1964 to Lee and Peggy Ballantine. He graduated from Hudson High School in May 1982 and from 916 Vocational Institute in December 1984 with a degree in Bio-medical Engineering. He spent his entire career working for Fairview Health Services.
He had a smile that could light up a room and he had a way of connecting with everyone he met. He couldn't go anywhere without striking up a conversation with someone. Everyone who knew him knew him as the one person they could always depend on. He never hesitated to help a neighbor move or a stranger load their truck in a parking lot. He was also there emotionally, he always found time for friends and family when they needed someone to just listen.
He had various interests including biking, kayaking, fishing, and music. He not only loved listening to music, but he was an avid guitar player and on occasion sang at weddings and funerals. During the summer he sat on the patio and serenaded the neighbors.
His love of nature, travel, and food lead to a passion for cruising. He and his family traveled extensively around the Caribbean. His favorite things to do in port were to check out the local beaches, try the local cuisine, mainly the BBQ, and sipping on their signature cocktails.
He is survived by his wife Vanessa, son Ian, sister Saffira Windsinger of Sedona, AZ, brothers Steve Ballantine (Kim) of St. Paul, and Tom Ballantine (Jody) of Oakdale.
