Wayne Fitzenberger

Wayne E. Fitzenberger, age 84 of Stillwater, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 27 after a brief illness. Preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Delphine (Ewald); siblings, Lloyd, Lillian, Harvey, and Bernice; wife, Jovita (Velasquez); and grandson, Anthony. Wayne was born on November 3, 1933 and grew up in St. Paul. He attended Blessed Sacrament and St. John's Catholic schools and graduated from Harding High School, class of 1951. After high school, he joined and served in the U.S. Army. He worked at St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company for 48 years. Wayne is survived and will be deeply missed by his wife of 46 years, Sharon; children, Holly, Mark (Nickey), Julie (Andy) Anderson, Karen (Mike) Wilkerson, Lori, and Mike; grandchildren, Mark (Sara) Thompson, Nicholas, Nathan, Daniel, Owen, & Rex; and great-grandchild Leo. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, October 31, 11:30 A.M. at ST. JUDE OF THE LAKE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 700 Mahtomedi Avenue, Mahtomedi. Visitation Tuesday, 4-7 P.M. at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard (NW corner of Hwy 36 & Cty Rd 5), Stillwater, as well as one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Memorials preferred to HealthEast Hospice and St. Jude of the Lake Catholic Church in Mahtomedi.
