Aase, William Joseph "Bill" Age 40 died Wednesday, April 8, 2015. He was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and grew up primarily in St. Paul, Minnesota. He is survived by parents Joe and Susan, sisters Kelly (Scott) Wacha and Brittany (Kyle) Chester, sons Joseph William (8) and Gavin John (5) and their mother Kari; step-brothers Arin and Adam Wilken; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends. William graduated from Highland Park Senior High School with honors in 1993. He was a cum laude graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College, Saint Peter, Minnesota in 1997. After earning his bachelor's degree, Bill attended the University of Miami School of Law, Coral Gables, Florida, where he graduated cum laude in 2000. While attending law school, Bill worked with the University of Miami Hurricanes football team and also gained valuable experience as a law clerk for the insurance defense firm of Hightower & Rudd. Bill served as a student attorney in the Dade County Public Defender's Office (Felony Division). He returned to Minnesota after graduating law school and was hired by the personal injury law firm Milavetz, Gallop & Milavetz, P.A. In 2002, Bill formed his own firm specializing in plaintiff's personal injury and criminal defense.
Bill enjoyed navigating people through difficult times. With his focus on personal injury and criminal defense, he assisted hundreds of client's with their legal needs. In 2006, Bill was named a "Rising Star" by his peers as being among the top up-and-coming lawyers under 40 years old in Minnesota. Bill was involved with several organizations including: Minnesota State Bar Association, Minnesota Trial Lawyers Association, Ramsey County Bar Association and Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
Bill was an accomplished athlete and played football, basketball and baseball. He was captain of the Gustavus Adolphus College football team and remained a loyal Green Bay Packers fan. Throughout his life, Bill loved fishing, hunting, golfing, fantasy football and above all spending time with his family and friends. More than anything, he enjoyed his sons' sporting activities including baseball, hockey and football. This past fall, he coached Joey's football team to the league championship.
Most importantly Bill was a loving father to his sons, Joey and Gavin, and cherished the time he spent with them. Recently they told him that he was the best dad in the universe.
Always in our hearts. Remember Bill's love, spread that love around and go on.
Service will be Friday, April 17. Gathering beginning at 3 PM with the service at 4 PM at Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd, (NW corner of Hwy 36 and Co Rd 5), Stillwater. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the family.
