William D. Brisley "Bill" Age 60 of Afton, MN Died peacefully in the home he loved and created on the bluffs of the St. Croix River. Bill died comforted by the presence of Christ and in the arms of his loving wife of 23 years, Sandra. He was surrounded by family, friends, music and peace; succumbing finally to his long battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. In addition to Sandra, Bill is survived by parents William N. and Charlotte, sister Elizabeth ( Shannon), and brother Stephen. Bill was born on September 30, 1948 and grew up in Minneapolis, MN. Bill had a passion for music and was a talented musician. He was a bass player in the 1960's R&B band "Dave Brady and the Stars" which was recently inducted into the Minnesota Rock & Country Hall of Fame. Bill served as an aerial photographer in the U.S. Air Force from 1967-1971 and was decorated for his tours of duty in both Vietnam and Korea. His talent for and love of photography carried over throughout his entire life. Bill attended the University of Minnesota where he developed his passion for architecture and design. He was a Registered Architect and founded Brisley Architecture Company in 1996. He practiced architecture for 35 years and his design work included commercial, retail, restaurant and high-end residential. He also specialized in stage design and often volunteered his design talents for Eagle Brook Church. In addition to music, architecture and photography, Bill was a talented artist and craftsman. Bill was a passionate man with many interests and had a great zest for life and the outdoors. He was an expert deep-water sailor and spent many hours sailing with Sandra on Lake Superior . He had a love for mountain skiing and made annual ski trips to Colorado with friends. He loved to travel and enjoyed many trips with his wife and extended family. Bill was a friend to many and a much loved brother and uncle. He was a devoted Christ-follower and a very active member at Eagle Brook Church. His enthusiasm for life and positive attitude extended to everything he was involved with, endearing him to many. Bill will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Funeral Service Friday, September 11, 12:00 PM at EAGLE BROOK CHURCH, White Bear Lake campus, 2401 Buffalo St, White Bear Lake, with visitation one hour prior at 11:00 AM.
