William Hurlbut, Sr.

William “Bill” Hurlbut, age 77, of Oak Park Heights, Minnesota, passed peacefully away at his home on December 19, 2020 surrounded by family. Bill fought a courageous battle with cancer that began in 2017. No services will be held at this time.

Bill was born on April 15, 1943 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He attended school in the Goodhue/Rosco area and afterward served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Bill lived for many years in the Red Wing and Southern Minnesota area where he raised his three sons. He then moved to Stillwater, Minnesota with his wife of 341/2 years, Cheryl Hurlbut of Eyota, Minnesota. Bill then began his 33 year career with Liquid Transport in Lakeland, Minnesota.

Bill loved every aspect of life. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. There wasn’t a place Bill could go that he wouldn’t see a friend or be able to make one. Surely he will be missed by many family and friends. Bill was brave, kind, humble, and he knew how to light up a room. He was the type of man this world needs more of. May he rest in peace.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Cheryl, of Oak Park Heights; children, Bill Jr., Jody, and Kelly (Michelle) Hurlbut; step-children, Heidi Van Hook and Jennifer (James) Richardson; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Scheryl, Patricia, and Penny; brother, Sandy; many beloved nieces and great-nieces, nephews; many cousins; and many friends.

He is preceded in death his father and mother; grandparents; and other family and friends.
