Nienaber, William B. D.D.S. Age 85 Of Minneapolis Passed away on January 16, 2009, surrounded by loved ones. Preceded in death by beloved wife Eileen; parents Albert and Odessa. Survived by daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren; Ruth and Donald Grant (Sara and Adam), Karen and Chris Mulkey (Amelia and Lizzy), Susan and Rick Macpherson (Jamie and Ian), and Mary (Ryan and Emily); brother and sister-in-law Bert and January Nienaber; sister-in-law Jean Kadlec; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. He will be deeply missed by all. Bill had a distinguished professional career as a dentist for 44 years. Bill served as a dentist and Captain in the Army Air Corps at the end of WWII. He served for many years in various a capacities in the Minnesota Dental Association, and was elected President in 1970. Bill taught at the University of Minnesota Dental School and was appointed to the American Dental Association Council on Dental Education, accrediting dental schools around the country. He was also elected to the International College of Dentistry and given the University of Minnesota Dental School Distinguished Alumni Award. Most importantly, he was a wonderful husband, father, brother and friend. He knew how to enjoy life and lived his fully.
