Palmer, Steven D.
Age 69, of Lake Elmo
Stillwater born and raised
Passed away peacefully with loved ones at his side. Preceded in death by parents Myrtle and Don. Survived by the love and light of his life, wife of 49 years Kathy (nAC.e Kelly), daughter Lisa Lutton (Steve), son Chris (Rene), much-loved granddaughters Laura and Lindsay Lutton, and Rachel and Megan Palmer, brother Bryan, the Card Club family, and countless more loving relatives and friends. To know him was truly to love him. Steve began working at Univac when a single computer took up a whole room, retiring from Lockheed Martin as a project manager of navigation equipment for Navy vessels. His career provided incredible experiences, including traveling to Australia to work with the Australian Navy, a few years spent living in California, Virginia Beach, and Philadelphia working on Navy aircraft, and the honor of being an invited guest to the commissioning of two Naval destroyers whose navigation systems he helped launch. He was in a meeting at the Navy shipyard in Washington DC on 9/11 and had quite a story about how he eventually made his way home to us. His retirement in 2006 allowed him to work on his golf game, putter around the house (always a project!), and spend more time at the cabin in Wisconsin. He found great joy as a school bus driver, as well as sitting by a campfire with his family and a drink, saying, "More wood!" A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 24th at 11 AM at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd. (NW Corner of Hwy 36 &Co Rd5), Stillwater. Visitation Thursday, June 23rd from 5-9 PM at Bradshaw and one hour prior to the service.
